Every Animal is Precious
Improving the lives of animals is a big task. But every little thing you can do to help solve the problems of cruelty and neglect, irresponsible pet guardianship and overpopulation counts. The SPCA of Westchester's Volunteer Program will give you the opportunity and the satisfaction of knowing that you are truly making a difference in the lives of all animals. Together we can make a difference.
Matching Your Talents and Interests
If you have a love for animals, we have a volunteer opportunity for you. Whether you are interested in dog walking, cat care, dog bathing and grooming, greeters program, event planning, humane education, Golden Outreach Pet Therapy program, shelter beautification, administrative work or opening your home to a foster animal, we can always use your help. If you have a special talent, for example, photography, carpentry or art, we can work together to find creative ways to use your skills.
Volunteer Guidelines
Our volunteers are hard working and extremely dedicated to promote an environment of dignity and respect for all living creatures.
Volunteers need to be at least 18 years of age or older to assist in our dog walking/training program. Click here for information on programs for volunteers under age 18. We require that all volunteers commit to contributing a minimum of 3 months of service and a minimum of 2 hours per week. A knowledgeable and trained person that volunteers consistently is truly a benefit to the animals in our care.
