At the SPCA, we’re celebrating the holidays by looking back on all the animals you’ve helped us save in 2017 who are cozy at home this season – many of whom would be lonely, cold and alone for the holidays if it weren’t for the support of animal lovers like you.

Behind every animal we rescue is a loyal friend of the SPCA – and even more animals will need our help next year. That’s why your tax-deductible gift this holiday season is so important.

In 2017, you helped save Hattie. You'd never know looking at her beautiful bright green eyes in this photo that she could barely see when she first arrived. Malnourished, infested with fleas and suffering severe eye infections, Hattie’s outlook was bleak – but thanks to the generous support of friends like you, we were able to give Hattie round-the-clock care – and she was quickly adopted once she healed!

And then there's Sassy – a five-year-old yellow lab who was surrendered to the SPCA when her family fell on hard times and could no longer care for her. Sadly, Sassy had given birth to a few litters and, over time, developed numerous mammary tumors as a result. Her poor stomach practically rubbed the ground when she walked – but gifts from our supporters ensured we were able to provide her with immediate veterinary care and the surgery she needed. Now in good health, Sassy is as happy a pup as we’ve ever seen – and we’re excited to report she has also found her forever family.

As this year closes and a new one begins, our Care Campus, Simpson Clinic and Humane Law Enforcement Unit will continue to help many animals who need us.. So as you check holiday gifts off your list this year, please don’t forget the orphaned animals who deserve a home for the holidays and beyond.
